Philam Foundation, Inc.
Philam Foundation, Inc. is the social development arm of the Philam Group of Companies. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization committed to serve the less privileged in society.
The foundation envisions the Philippine society characterized by Filipinos who are able to live their lives to the fullest and are active participants in nation-building.
It commits to developing projects that would promote its goal of uplifting the quality of life of Filipinos.
Philippine Coffee Board
The Philippine Coffee Board is a private sector-led group established in May 2002 as the National Coffee Development Board. The goal of the Coffee Board is to develop and promote the Philippine coffee industry through technical assistance and credit programs for coffee farms; and through marketing and promotions of coffee for domestic and export markets.
Research/training, certification and credit programs are carried out in partnership with Cavite State University (CavSU), Department of Trade and Industry – International Coffee Organization Certifying Agency (DTI-ICOCA) and Quedan & Rural Credit Guarantee Corporation (Quedancor).
Aside from rehabilitation, certification, and credit programs, the Coffee Board also conducts a marketing and promotional program for Philippine coffee called Kape Isla. Kape Isla is intended for the use of the industry as a Philippine coffee quality seal.
SM Foundation, Inc.
SM Foundation, Inc. is the corporate social responsibility arm of the SM Group. It focuses on four major programs and areas of advocacy, namely, education; religious; outreach; and health. The foundation aims to help underprivileged people in the Philippines. It was established in 1983 by the founder and chairman of the SM Group, Henry Sy.
SM College Scholarship
This program was established in 1993 to help underprivileged but academically excellent children to go to school. It maintains 500 scholars from NCR, Pampanga, Marilao, Baguio, Sta. Rosa, Lipa, Batangas, Lucena, Cavite, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Davao and Cagayan de Oro. Scholars who have graduated from the program are employed with the SM Group of Companies as well as other companies local and abroad.
SM School building Program
The foundation supports the Adopt-a-School Program of the Department of Education by donating two classroom SM Schoolhouses to 15 public elementary schools. These schools are located in Baguio, Cavite, Cagayan de Oro, Pampanga, Quezon, Lucena and Iloilo. It has also renovated a classroom building in Marilao, Bulacan.
In cooperation with the ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc.’s E-Media Program, the foundation donated Educational-TV infrastructures to 60 public elementary schools in Cavite, Batangas City and Manila. The Educational-TV Infrastructure includes a TV set, video or CD/DVD player and educational CD/video materials.
The foundation conducts medical missions to attend to the needs of indigent families in areas within the operation of the SM Group of Companies.
The Blackshop Boutique is the brainchild of top fashion model turned fashion entrepreneur, Tina Maristela Ocampo. The image of the store is geared towards elegance and formality. Black not only enhances the store’s image but is also a very classic, versatile color which could be worn from the day to night, and matches with almost any other color. The designs of the clothes are chosen by Tina herself; they bore the imprint of her good taste.
