Are first impressions on a person often times the right one?

So today, I had this inkling to do a survey on my friend’s first impression when they met me. I sent a question to some of my online friends on FB, friends coming from different times in my life from before high school, college, co-workers, and recent friends I met. Their reply to the survey was amusing. :)

 

Friends from college days:

Friend 1 –

What is your first impression of me when we first met, what kind of feeling did this first impression of me had on you? Negative or Positive?

First impression ko sayo ay quiet, mataray (assertive), and serious. I felt that effort is needed to be your friend. Neutral lang naman, not positive or negative. Medyo wala akong pakialam noon e, di ko masyado pinag-isipan. What i mean is, kung kinausap moko noon, e di masaya. Kung hindi, ok rin lang. I respect other people’s need to be private. Ayoko rin kasi na kinukulit ako.

How do you see me now? Tama ba ang first impression mo?

You’re actually kinda kalog pala. Di ka naman pala serious all the time. Engaging ka naman kausap and maraming advice esp sa parenting. Di ka nman mataray na walang dahilan or wala sa lugar.
Friend 2 –
What is your first impression of me when we first met, what kind of feeling did this first impression of me had on you? Negative or Positive?
Shy, tall person. Positive: respectable. Haha seryoso to jl? Hehe
How do you see me now? Tama ba ang first impression mo?
oo :) saka pag gusto mo ginagawa mo, oinag aaralan mo, :) bongga! hehe saka sincere kausap. ganun.

Friends from after college/working days:

Friend 3 –

What is your first impression of me when we first met, what kind of feeling did this first impression of me had on you? Negative or Positive?

Quiet, introvert. Sweet. positive. yung introvert yung mali ko na impression.

How do you see me now? Tama ba ang first impression mo?

Introvert is a no no. na-takpan lang sya nung pagiging quiet, soft and sweetness. You are trustworthy. you are a responsible, loving, passionate and trustworthy mother, friend and wife.

Friend 4 –

What is your first impression of me when we first met, what kind of feeling did this first impression of me had on you? Negative or Positive?

hmmm akala ko malamya ka, ewan ko kung tama yung word na yun. 

parang… homebody type na normal boring ang gusto sa buhay. tapos uurong ka pag inaway. malamya.. or medyo “malambot”
soft… soft is the better word

How do you see me now? Tama ba ang first impression mo?

medyo soft ka na lang sa tingin ko. medyo soft, which isn’t really a bad thing. magaling ka sa art/ craft mo pero di ka maangas. mapagbigay ka (sa akin, at least). pero pansin ko na sometimes nag-b-backdown ka ng madali…

Friend 5 –

What is your first impression of me when we first met, what kind of feeling did this first impression of me had on you? Negative or Positive?

 tingn ko syo e parang loner ka at me suicidal tendencies. dati kasi d k ngsasalita.

How do you see me now? Tama ba ang first impression mo?

infairness. madaldal k pla.

Reserved:) positive.. Since you are being careful as how to approach a person at the same time cautious to your own actions

 1st impression: deep hehehe then super mom Feeling: interested Positive syempz hahaha mahiram magung super nanay

Friend 8 –

What is your first impression of me when we first met, what kind of feeling did this first impression of me had on you? Negative or Positive?

 U struck me as mahiyain. Kasi quiet ka lang. Wala naman nega vibes. Parang u were able to easily blend in with us naman.

How do you see me now? Tama ba ang first impression mo?

Na mahiyain ka? Parang di naman haha.
