2009Oh yes, my husband and I are already planning about our dream home. We even have a few sketches of it already. A home with a space just enough for 6 (incase our family grows big), a very very very big garden with beautiful landscaping and of course a space where i can plant vegetables and fruit plants and trees. I love gardening specially the edible types. I could just imagine harvesting and cooking it afterward.I get to enjoy the gardening part and save money in turn and save myself a trip to the market too. plus i get to enjoy it in its freshest state. I even want to grow some fish or chicken. Much like the type of life in a province but with the luxury of the latest technologies and modes of communication as a hi speed broadband internet, cable tv, great entertainment showcase and a state of the art kitchen. aw! I love to cook, although it doesn’t seem like it to some of my friends… its just that i want to cook in a big and beautiful kitchen :P, once i have that, i could stay in there for hours and just cook and bake and eat and… enjoy. I so love bamboos and bahay kubo and i want to integrate that to our home, i could imagine an extension of our house that is bahay kubo where one can just relax and rest and have a feel of that oh so peaceful province resort like ambiance. If we’re lucky enough to even find a place with a wonderful view of both sea and mountain but still be close to the city, that would be heaven for me. I’d like it to still be close to the city so i could just ride a bike in going there whenever i need to buy something and save on that precious fuel in using a car. But the best feature of our home that i’d really want to have is to make it a green home so we can give back to mother earth the respect she deserves. Solar panels or wind turbines as a substitute source of renewable energy, recyclable water… maybe use rain water for toilet needs and gardening, have a half flush and full flash option for our toilet to conserve water. It will have water-conserving irrigation system and water-efficient kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Use our biodegradable garbages as a fertilizer for my plants. It will have a sustainable architecture that will help us save on resources and maximize what nature has to offer without damaging it. A very good architectural design that allows for natural lighting during the day and take on the advantage of the prevailing breeze and bring plentiful fresh air inside the house. Will have as much shade and trees as possible outside to minimize heat that goes in the house and save on energy consumption. Maybe use some recycled materials and integrate it to the architecture while not sacrificing the aesthetic aspect. A home that creates less waste and is healthier for the people living inside.
It’s going to be a paradise and it’s so nice to dream. I hope we can make this happen pretty soon for my baby Janna so she can have memories to store from this home. 😀
Let’s promote greener home and greener environment for our children and children’s children’s future. 😀
