Baby fell off the bed

My baby fell off our bed early this morning around 4am. she somehow managed to roll towards the foot of the bed. Everyone was asleep, my husband and I were awaken by her cry…she was on the floor already. I didn’t know how she fell or which part of her body hit the floor first. But I am thankful that somehow her fall was buffered by our rubber slippers. I felt horrible and was staring blankly for a moment while my husband picked her up. I thought i was just dreaming, or wished that i were. I searched her body for bruises or broken parts, thank God there’s none exept for mild reddening on her left forehead. I observed her a little more and tried to keep her awake in case she suffered a concussion. Later this afternoon, we went to the clinic to have her checked. She seemed normal and active but the doctor adviced me to observe her more for the next 2-3 days to see if she is becoming dull and less active, is vomiting, and loss her apetite.

As for the overall check up, she’s very much fine. They checked her development and she passed all considering that the test was supposedly for 6 months old babies. Janna is only 5 months and 16 days. Some of her tests even exceeded that of a 9 month old. They said Janna is smart and advanced for her age. I was very very proud. 😀 I guess the classical music worked 😛 Although, she seemed a little overweight, but they said we shall observe her for the next 3 months because maybe, that’s just how she is – “malaking bulas” as we call it.

The doctor said she may already start on solid foods. They are very happy to know that my breastfeeding is successful since she is very much healthy and big. And they are glad that she is exclusively on breastmilk. I suppose that’s one secret also on why she’s become smart and advanced. Our next checkup will be when she’s 9 months to check on her weight gain.

I am so happy I’ve been blessed with a very cute, smart and cuddly baby. I just pray and hope that her fall did not affect her much.
