Just this morning, me, jason and my maid of honor, Jessette went to Quiapo church at 8am in the morning to get my Sacrament of Confirmation. We were already in a line since 8am and was able to get inside a few minutes before 9am. Well I guess it’s alright since we were able to hear the mass. Btw, it’s also Sto. Nino day today. So alot of church goers brought their Sto. Ninos to have it blessed with holy water.

Anyway, only the sponsor and the person to get confirmed are allowed to enter the premises where the ceremony is to be held (3rd floor, Quiapo church office). Jeset is my sponsor and so Jason had to stay behind. I paid 200 for the confirmation fee. Then off we go to the room of around 150 people, half of which are like me – getting my confirmation as required by the church before getting married and half were composed of their sponsors. Actually, i’ve already had my confirmation when i was around 12 years old, unfortunately, mom didn’t get the certificate to authenticate that i indeed got the sacrament. However, among the crowd, i was the only one who had that case of getting the confirmation for the 2nd time just to get the certificate. the Priest adviced me that it’s not right/proper to have the sacrament of confirmation twice in a lifetime. So with this, he gave me a conditional confirmation. I thought the whole thing would just take a few minutes, but no. We were stuck in that room for 3 long hours of sermon and seminar on the different sacraments. At some point i got too sleepy and  really bored, but im still glad i was able to attend it coz i was able to absorb the sermons, learn a few things and realize a lot of stuff that has a direct impact on my life. I thought i’ll get a slap from the Priest since that is how the confirmation is done in some church, but instead, we all just got a tap on our shoulders.

I hope i could really apply those things i learned and not be as hard headed as my usual self anymore. 😛

So my advise for you guys who haven’t yet taken the sacrament of confirmation, take it now. So you won’t cram the last minute like me when the time comes that you’re getting married. And for the parents out there, have your children get it once they turned 12 and dont forget to keep the certificate of confirmation so they won’t have to go through the long process in the future. 😀
